Ambassador Dr. Leonard Oghenetega Obie Commends Government Efforts, Advocates Youth-Government Synergy for National Unity
Ambassador Dr. Leonard Oghenetega Obie, Peace Ambassador to the United Nations under PEPOLAC, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, relevant government agencies, and both local and international NGOs for their steadfast commitment to upholding and protecting the rights of Nigerian citizens.
Speaking in his capacity as a global advocate for peace and dialogue, Ambassador Obie emphasized the critical need for sustained peaceful coexistence between Nigerian youths and the government. He highlighted that mutual respect and collaboration are essential pillars for a thriving democracy.
“Our youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the heartbeat of our democratic journey today,” he stated. “Their energy, creativity, and courage must be harnessed for national development. I urge them to remain law-abiding and to work hand-in-hand with government institutions to build a Nigeria that is not only admired but envied by the world.”
Ambassador Obie further praised the Nigerian youths for maintaining peace and order while advocating for the release of Mr. Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). He described their conduct as a sign of maturity and a positive step toward constructive civic engagement.
In his concluding remarks, the Peace Ambassador called on Mr. Otse to use his influential voice to champion the values of peace, patriotism, and unity.
“Our nation is strongest when we speak as one. Let us all — especially our youth — rise above division and use our platforms to inspire a new era of national pride and unity,” he urged.
